faLL,iF you BoTTLed IT it WOuld sELL

THere should be more fall as a rule. always so much to do, all at once. THis fall is better than last, at least for me. Last fall I thought I might have to medicate to keep a bit of a dark funk from blanketing my whole world. I had such a perfect summer ,when it finally ended I couldn't believe it. THis fall I am too busy to notice...

WE split a lot of wood. this is the pile that wouldn't fit in the wood shed. The shed holds about 5 cords, it WaS about half full.

Then there is trail building at Hartman's Creek State Park. Until there's frost in the ground we're hard at it. CHeck out the sweet trail building ride...

That's fresh cut trail behind me. only about 5 more miles to go....and all three loops will be complete.

hoorAAH!!

That's the last one ...so i found the not so hidden trails of the northern kettle moraine sf.

Fun fun fun the trails are not done by any means, but no one seems to care.I rode about 6 miles of singletrack and didn't find it all. I believe there will be 10miles of singletrack plus the ski trail.

i also made some delicious bagels. mmm bagels...

this is what i dream about... the perfect back yard pump track...

ScaMPIN in rhiNElaNDER

rode the smOKING SPOke course... some trails are great some are way too short, some are just not gonna last due to their fall line... the ramps are a blast!!! the whole thing rides like it's in a kid's back yard. it had a smallishness i wasn't expecting because of the remote location of the trail

remember 24-9 it was the last year of the pinkness, it was a good year

I'm Still HErE

I am still here. the problem is i am here, and then there, and then here, and then there again. making it somewhat hard to keep up with there, or here for that matter...let me explain, no on second thought let me sum up...

these are little kid genius types, future rulers of the world. they know it would be uncouth to miss a first birthday party, let alone a second. (this would constitute there)

These are what the crappy brakes look like next to a cold can of pabst and a happy home mechanic...(this would constitute here)

This is there. Note how the 6'4" inch CIA agent fits right in with rest of the 'family'...I really can't complain about an Italian family reunion the food was awesome and the last names generally fun to say.

we're proud poppy owners.

i meant poppy ,but you're right this is a puppy. always puppy sit when you plan to tackle a major home remodeling project, over a holiday weekend...

dogs they're smart people.this is the spare bedroom post floor refinishing, pre-room put back together charlie foxtrot. too bad we fried our modem in the process. no tv, no internet for a whole weekend. I thought i might die...

FLATsy

Hooray for creative commons. If you haven't checked it out you should. It's ideas sharing on line and it's great. Here are a couple of my creations, compliments of.

Recycled army duffle messenger bag.

And a Flatsy bike trailer for hauling trail building tools.

spring is busy, by design?

fishes big and small, green green grass, tiny ribbons of trail, little organs that you really don't need, friends and family and life and stuff...that's all.

Moving Gallons

yesterday i got caught in the rain just before it started to sn...s..sno.sn...snow. that's hard to say in April. i know it happens, but does it really have to?

Today was about water but in a different way...

Here's some creative littering

I'm a fan of reduce reuse recycle but at my core i truly support covert art making even if it was only about keeping beer score, and never about art making...

I read somewhere that Virgos should participate in repetitive exercise like running cycling etc. if they don't they run the risk of becoming like adog that chews itself raw in spots and snips at it's kennel mates. here's to my mental health and a lot of biking.

FIRE

40 degree temps + sun=desire for FIRE.

i had my first rant of the bon fire season...bring on the rest of the world's problems... i've got more beer.

truth be told this is the second bon fire of the season.the first one the snow was just about level with the seats on those plastic lawn chairs.

i laid in my hammock in the sun earlier in the day too. just practicing up for summer.

michelle and and laughed at each other because only residents of the great white north really understand lawn chairs in glacier type conditions.

Homo Ownership

Last weekend i worked on sat. in the am. i was on important government business. lots of people needed to buy sell and /or trade chickens, goats, rabbits, and some less recognizable small animals. it was up to me to see all was properly documented and no emergencies arose...everything went smooth. County fairgrounds who needs um?...people with goats and chickens.

Then it was on to my own holiday project. the water softener.three trips to the hardware store later it works(without anything leaking). I only found 2-3 other issues that impeded progress and one i have on the run, so it's like our whole house has new plumbing. And we have all our heat duct actually hooked up to heat registers, i know fuckin' brilliant idea. Today i have to fix the small leak from the dishwasher drain and then i think i can ignore this project's remaining small details for quite some time..

quick spin through the 'hood'

40 degrees with a stiff breeze is exciting. So to celebrate the 's' word i toured the county line signs. Kudos to Marathon county for getting a little bold, dare I say wordy, with the same ol' goverment green. yes that dog is mine.
